Independence National Historical Park

Independence Mall National Park is a complex of historic buildings and outdoor spaces in downtown Philadelphia. The Liberty Bell is here, as is Independence Hall where both the Declaration Of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were written.

An archeological dig discovered the foundation of a house where it believed George Washington and other historical figures either lived or visited. A number of Oak trees stood right at the edge of the foundation and had to be removed for the dig to be expanded. CitiLog was called in to upcycle the Oak trees into finished planks that the Independence Mall National Park maintenance department can use for various projects around the site.

CitiLog was proud to be associated with this project. It is a good example of how a tree can be saved with no specific end product in mind. The Independence Mall National Park maintenance department has frequent use for Oak wood to repair, or upgrade the facilities. With CitiLog's help that wood will now come from a stockpile collected through the upcycling of trees that once stood on the grounds.
