Community Food & Juice is one of the few uptown New York restaurants certified by the Green Restaurant Association. Their commitment to green started in the design process and continues in the daily operation of the very popular restaurant. Their philosophy and commitment is summarized in their "Being Green" page - note the reference to CitiLog at the end of the first paragraph (link).

CitiLog upcycled antique Oak for the tables. By the way, we don't just find the wood - we build the finished product. We built these tables at our mill, and delivered the finished product to the restaurant.

We fabricated the bar out of the same repurposed Oak.

The New York Times states "it is the most welcoming restaurant to appear on the Upper West Side in years". New York Magazine states that weekend brunch is a "green riot". One review states that "there is plenty of conscientious gorging to be done here", the same review in a nod to our tables says "The generously proportioned tables make it possible to enjoy a leisurely, even relatively private meal."
